With over 25 years of research and business with minds and machines, Goran leads DataKolektiv (founded 2017), a boutique agency delivering AI-driven business transformation at the intersection of data science, software engineering, and generative AI. From 2022 to 2026, he served as Chief AI Officer at smartocto, steering the company’s AI strategy through the transition into the generative AI era – defining product vision and R&D priorities, managing cross-functional teams across Data Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, ML Engineering, and MLOps, and shipping production-grade predictive analytics and recommendation systems for digital media. His current focus is on establishing AI as a structural layer of modern organizations – an integrated capability across analytics, product, and business processes rather than a standalone tool. Active R&D areas include LLM-driven analytics, agentic systems, and next-generation analytical frameworks. Through DataKolektiv, he previously delivered full-stack Data Science for Wikidata (2017-2023), one of the world’s largest Open Knowledge Bases, and continues to advise clients across industries on implementing AI for measurable business value.

A Cognitive and Data Scientist with a PhD in Cognitive Psychology (2013), Goran has co-edited and co-authored five books, numerous journal and conference papers, and is founder and executive board member of MACHINERY, the Serbian professional association of AI/ML experts.
