Stefan Mojsilović

Research Engineer, Nordeus

Stefan Mojsilović is a Software Engineer with experiencence in the design and creation of distributed systems that are easy to scale and maintain. After graduating from RAF in Belgrade, he worked in a series of startups. Stefan is currently a Research Engineer at Nordeus, working with Machine Learning and Data Scientists on creating a tailored ML/DS platform. One of his passions is a good user (engineering) experience and functional programming.

    An unlikely technology in this field based on the rock-solid Erlang platform, known for ease of creating robust distributed systems, and functional programming approach. In this presentation, we will explore new possibilities and benefits Elixir can bring to the ML community and the Nx project which is the basis of machine learning effort in Elixir. Nx brings multi-dimensional arrays (tensors) and just-in-time compilation of numerical Elixir to both CPU and GPU. As we will see, the mixture of functional programming and tensor compilers provide an elegant and powerful abstraction for emitting highly specialized code. Exciting future possibilities of this technology are federated learning and distributed training.
